How can I verify a dentist’s qualifications in Sandy Springs?

You can start by checking the dentist’s license on the Georgia Board of Dentistry website and confirming any board certification in a specialty. The practice’s website usually lists education, residency and affiliations. If a dentist is a member of professional societies, such as the American Dental Association, it adds an extra layer of credibility.

What should I look for in patient reviews when comparing dentists?

Focus on comments about appointment availability, punctuality, and how the dentist explains procedures. Consistent praise for a calm, respectful staff and a clean environment indicates reliable service. Be wary of repeated complaints about rushed visits, unexpected costs, or difficulty reaching the office after hours. Balanced feedback gives a clearer picture than isolated extremes.

How do I prepare for my first appointment with a new dentist?

Call the office ahead of time to confirm what records to bring, such as a list of current medications and any recent dental X‑rays. Arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork and discuss your oral health goals. Bring insurance details and be prepared to ask about treatment options and follow‑up care.
