What should I look for in a dentist’s credentials?

Check that the dentist holds a DDS or DMD degree from an accredited school and is active in the California Dental Board. Membership in professional societies, such as the American Dental Association or specialty boards, shows commitment to ongoing education. Verify any specialty certifications for procedures you need.

How can I evaluate patient reviews for a Pasadena dentist?

Read reviews on several platforms to spot patterns rather than isolated comments. Look for feedback about appointment punctuality, staff friendliness, and how clearly the dentist explains treatment options. Pay attention to recent posts, as they reflect current office practices. If a practice consistently addresses concerns, it often indicates responsive patient care.

What questions should I ask during my first appointment?

Ask about the dentist’s experience with your specific treatment, the materials they use, and the expected timeline for care. Inquire about payment options, insurance coverage, and any follow‑up appointments. Clarify the office’s emergency protocol and how they handle post‑procedure discomfort.
